The death of Manchester United owner Malcolm Glazer was broken on The Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ website (an American Football team he also owned along with United).

The club say they were “saddened” by the news as he was an adventurous businessman who saw glory with the teams he owned.

The cause of death remains unspecified.

Glazer purchased Manchester United in 2005 and since then they have gone on to win five Premier League titles (2007, 2008, 2009, 2011 and 2013) as well as the Champions League amongst others.

He was a man who was contraversial amongst the United faithful but ultimately did what he could for his club and enjoyed the success which came with players, coaches and fans alike.

Glazer also helped seal a seven year sponsorship deal with Chevrolet worth around $559 million so the American will be sadly missed by everybody at Manchester United.
