Manchester United are prepared to offer up to £55million for Real Madrid winger Angel Di Maria, despite reports suggesting a deal is close with Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain.
According to some reports, PSG and Madrid are working towards a potential loan deal for the season, but Louis Van Gaal is ready to hijack the move by offering big-money for a permanent move.
Laurent Blanc’s side are desperate to complete the loan move rather than a permanent one in order to keep in line with the new Financial Fair Play rules, and after spending £50m on Chelsea’s David Luiz, the French champions don’t have a lot left to spend.
Despite United’s renewed interest, Di Maria’s agent is working hard to seal the PSG move, and according to some reports, the club have already got a kit number ready for him and are close to agreeing terms.
However, United, who play Real Madrid tonight, are going to use tonight’s friendly as a chance to get to Di Maria and discuss a potential transfer with him.
It’s believed that Madrid would prefer to sell to United because they want the money up-front, rather than see him leave on a loan-deal.
