Manchester United set to dig deep for star striker

Manchester United will be forced to pay £35 million should Falcao make just 15 appearances and score 5 goals this season as part of the agreement with AS Monaco.

The striker joined United on an initial season-long loan after a frantic transfer deadline day, which may come back to haunt Louis Van Gaal’s side in the coming months.

The clause to sign Falcao permanently will be automatically triggered should the Colombian net 5 goals in a minimun of 15 starts for his new club, as well as continue to pay his £210,000 AFTER tax wages.

But this is something that Manchester United will not be too concerned by, should the striker find the goals to propel United back into the top 4. They’ll also retain £30 million from new sponsors Adidas should they qualify for next seasons Champions League, which would cover the majority of the buy-out.

Falcao is set to make his Manchester United debut this weekend against Queens Park Rangers, and he’ll be hoping to get off to a fast start as United look to gain their first three points of the season after a poor start to the campaign.
