With Manchester United’s poor form in the league, reports suggest David Moyes is going to be given £150 million to spend this month in the transfer window. The need to spend may be increased with the possible departure of Wayne Rooney in this transfer period.

Manchester United have been linked with the likes of Juan Mata for around £37 million, a she is currently out of favour at Mourinho’s Chelsea. However with the possible departure of Wayne Rooney they will need a replacement up front. Cavani has been the player that Manchester United is currently eyeing up as a replacement for Rooney.

Rooney will soon be entering the last 12 months of his contract and with no signs of Rooney looking to sign a new deal, United may have to offload the player soon to receive a reasonable fee for the striker.

Rumours in France suggest Cavani is frustrated currently at PSG and could be looking for a move away in the summer. PSG paid £53 million for Cavani and will be looking for a reasonable fee for the striker if United are to try and sign the Uruguayan international.

Moyes has been scouting players across Europe, but with Manchester United sitting in seventh, United might have to lower their expectations for potential signings, especially if they miss out on the Champions League.
