Ivan Rakitic to fight for his place at Barcelona
Manchester United target Ivan Rakitic is set to reject a move to Old Trafford in order to fight for his place at Barcelona.
According to Spanish Media, the Croatian midfielder has told his agent to reject every offer that’s made for him.
Rakitic has faced increased competition at Barca this season in the shape of young talents Denis Suarez and Andre Gomes.
Although neither has lived up to expectations so far, which may be the reason the 28-year-old still has the confidence to fight his way back into Luis Enrique’s team.
His agent, Arturo Canales, said last month: “Ivan is very happy at FC Barcelona, where he has been tremendously successful and has a contract with the club until 2019.
“Ivan loves football and is only 28-years-old. Having played in Switzerland, Germany and Spain, who knows if one day he’ll be ready to have an experience in England, but for now he’s an FC Barcelona player.”
