Manchester United target set for Russia move

Manchester United have been dealt yet another transfer blow after it was reported that long-term target Ezequiel Garay is to join Russian side Zenit St Petersburg.

The Benfica centre-back was originally wanted a few seasons ago by Sir Alex Ferguson, but after he retired, interest was still there as David Moyes then remained interested in the Argentine.

Last week it was even reported that United were finally close to securing a deal for the centre-back, but it has now been reported that a deal has been agreed between Benfica and Zenit.

Reports in Portugal are suggesting that a double-deal between the two clubs are taking place, and it is believed that Zenit will be paying Benfica around ÂŁ35millin for both of the players.

This will come as a huge blow for Moyes, who was planning to make the 27-year-old a long-term replacement for duo Nemanja Vidic and Rio Ferdinand, both who could be leaving Old Trafford in the Summer.
