Red Devils expected to make formal bid in next few days

Manchester United are set to launch a formal bid for Paris Saint-Germain defender Marquinhos in the next few days, according to reports.

The Brazilian centre-back has recently admitted that he is considering his future and could be open to a move to the Premier League after feeling ‘flattered’ by the interest shown in him by United and also Chelsea.

The Blues made two formal bids for the defender back in the summer, but both were turned down by PSG, with Laurent Blanc seeing him as a key part of their future.

However, the 21-year-old is growing tired of the lack of first-team football in Paris and could be ready to move on in order to further his career.

Marquinhos Ready for Move

Marquinhos is currently behind Thiago Silva and David Luiz in the pecking order at the Ligue 1 side, and that could be the reason he leaves the club.

According to reports, United could be set to launch the first formal bid for the defender and it could come in the next few days with Louis van Gaal keen to make additions to his side.

The United board are once again expected to back Van Gaal financially, and that backing could see them launch a mega-money move for the PSG star, who is contracted at the club until 2019.
