Manchester United to leave Rooney hanging on contract

Manchester United are apparently in no rush to open contract negotiations with striker Wayne Rooney despite the Englishman’s fine form this season so far.

The 27-year-old’s current deal expires in 2015, but it was suggested that the champions would offer him an extension as soon as possible so that his future remains at Old Trafford.

However, reports have broken out this morning revealed that United official are not willing to talk to Rooney and his representitives until next year at the earliest.

This may be a risky move by United as this Summer, the striker was close to leaving the club once again after asking for a transfer away from Old Trafford, but luckily for David Moyes and co., no deal was agreed.

Since the uncertain Summer, Rooney has been in superb form for United and has looked as passionate as ever, but will this contract snub de-motivate and annoy the striker once again?
