United eye former-Manchester City player

Manchester United could make a formal bid for former-Manchester City player Stefan Savic.

According to reports in Spain, United are considering a £15million bid for the centre-back, who failed to impress in England during his short career with City.

The 24-year-old spent just one year at the Etihad Stadium before moving to Italy with Fiorentina in 2012.

Competition for Signature

Despite his poor time in the Premier League, it hasn’t stopped United, as well as Liverpool and Arsenal, being interested in the centre-back.

However, the English trio also face competition from Spanish giants Atletico Madrid, who are in the market to replace Miranda, who joined Inter Milan, and Toby Alderweireld, who joined Tottenham Hotspur on a permanent deal.

According to Spanish media, United will be the first team to make a formal bid, believed to be around £15m, as Louis Van Gaal turns his attentions to his back-line.

Nicolas Otamendi and Sergio Ramos have both been linked, but Savic could be the cheaper option out of the three.
