Reports claim that Manchester United could try to sign Barcelona center-back Yerry Mina provided they are unable to sign Harry Maguire. Leicester City have demanded a hefty sum of £75 million for the 25-year old and it is very likely that the deal for Maguire would come to a halt.
Yerry Mina has been linked to a number of clubs lately. The strongest link he has had is to Everton. However, his legendary compatriot Carlos Valderrama has advised him not to go to the Premier League and move to Galatasaray instead. Valderrama said, “I don’t think Yerry should join a mid-table team like Everton. Fatih Terim has a great record developing players, if it were me I would pick Galatasaray.”
Even French club Olympique Lyon have made a bid of €30 million for the 23-year old. Mina joined Barcelona this January from Palmeiras at a fee of €11.8 million. He signed a five-year contract with the club and became the first Colombian to play for Barcelona. However, he has not played much for the club since joining.
Yerry Mina had an outstanding World Cup as he was Colombia’s top-scorer of the tournament with 3 goals.
