Manchester United want Diego Costa

Manchester United have come under heavy criticism for their form in the league this season, especially at home and rumours are circulating that they are interested in signing Atletico Madrid’s star striker Diego Costa to try and turn their season around.

United however are not the only team interested in signing Costa as fellow Premier League rivals Arsenal and Chelsea are also interested in strengthening their squads with the signing of Costa. Both Arsenal and Chelsea are performing well in the league this season, but many fans and pundits believe both teams need to strengthen their attacking options.

Arsenal have suffered from injuries leaving them short of striking options, even more so now with Theo Walcott out for six months. Chelsea have had a lack of goals from their strikers this season and could try to strengthen this area of their game in January in their mission to regain the Premier League.

Brazilian born Diego Costa is currently in spectacular form scoring twenty three goals in twenty one appearances.

Costa was a target of Liverpool in the summer, but Costa remained at Atletico and they will not want to lose him now.

Atletico sporting director Jose Luis Perez Caminero insists he is going nowhere.

“The player has a clause of 38 millions euros and the big clubs in England know this,” Caminero said.

“Diego Costa has matured and is smart when it comes to decision making.

“Right now, Costa does not think of leaving, he is hooked on Atletico. He has re-signed a deal that is important, I am confident he will continue with us.”

With a high amount of interest in Diego Costa it will be interesting to see if he remains at Atletico and if he doesn’t, where his next destination will be.
