Tottenham Hotspur want to sign Javier Hernandez

Manchester United have informed Tottenham Hotspur that if they want to sign Javier Hernandez, they will have to add Harry Kane as part of the deal.

Spurs are in the market for a new striker in order to help take the workload off Kane, and Mauricio Pochettino has made Hernandez his number-one target.

Little Pea, as he is known, spent last season out on loan with Real Madrid, and despite Louis Van Gaal confirming that he will give the Mexican a second chance to impress at Old Trafford, it’s likely that he will leave the club before the transfer window shuts.

West Ham United have also shown interest in the United forward, and are prepared to pay ÂŁ12million, but The Red Devils want to negotiate with Spurs instead in order to try and lure Kane to the club.

United and Spurs’ Striker Situation

Both Spurs and United need new strikers, with Emmanuel Adebayor and Roberto Soldado expected to be sold by the North London club, and Radamel Falcao and Robin Van Persie leaving United earlier in the summer.

However, the only way United will sell Hernandez to Spurs is if they get Kane in return, meaning both clubs would then be in the same position as they were before.

It’s believed Spurs won’t listen to any offers for Kane, but will still attempt to lure Hernandez to White Hart Lane, despite United playing hardball.
