Manchester United With No Shot At Top Four – Ray Parlour

Arsenal legend, Ray Parlour let it be known that Manchester United have got no shot at making the Premier League top four this season.

After Liverpool’s 3-1 Anfield victory over the Red Devils on Sunday, Jose Mourinho claimed that his team could still finish in the Champions League qualification spots by the end of the season.

United are currently 11 points behind fourth-placed Chelsea and 19 off the top of the standings. With the busy winter schedule already underway, the Manchester side will have to work miracles to climb their way up the table.

Addressing Mourinho’s statements, Parlour said, “Jose was saying after the game they’ve still got every chance of getting in the top four, but I can’t believe he said that. I don’t think they’ve got any chance.”
“I just don’t think they’re good enough. The recruitment has got to be better and at the moment I just don’t know where Man United are going.”

This is not the first time United has struggled under the leadership of Mourinho. The Portuguese’s stay at Old Trafford has not exactly been smooth sailing since he arrived, even with the boatloads of cash he has been allowed to spend through the transfer markets.

The players individually are some of the world’s very best but somehow cannot perform cohesively as an unit. The weekend fixture was quite clear to point that out when the final whistle blew and the stat sheet noted Liverpool’s 36 shots on goal as compared to United’s 6.
