Turkish sides Galatasaray and Fenerbahce interested in signing Fellaini

Manchester United midfielder Marouane Fellaini’s future at the club looks bleak with Turkey looking his likely destination.

The Belgian giant seems to have dropped down the pecking order at Old Trafford following the arrivals of Bastian Schweignsteiger and Morgan Schneiderlin.

He is currently suspended until August 30 after his red card against Hull on the final day of last season, a decision which manager Louis van Gaal slammed as “unbelievable stupidity”.

Fellaini will find it incredibly difficult to get back into van Gaal’s good books and could be tempted by Galatasaray and Fenerbahce’s interest.

Fellaini flopped

This could be a sad end for Fellaini’s United career which never lived up to expectation.

He signed a five-year contact in 2013 after former manager David Moyes agreed a £27.5m fee with Everton.

Much like the manager, he had a disappointing first season making 21 appearances and couldn’t find the net once.

However, his form improved rapidly under van Gaal as he managed 7 goals in 31 appearances and was often a go-to man last season.

Now following his dismissal at Hull and competition for places in midfield, it seems like the Belgian may be on his way out of Manchester.

If Fenerbahce can strike a deal with the Red Devils, the 27-year-old will become the third player to join the Turkish side and be reunited with former teammates Nani and Robin van Persie.
