West Ham star discusses reported Liverpool interest

West Ham United midfielder Manuel Lanzini has revealed he is ‘absolutely honoured’ to be linked with a summer move to Liverpool.

The 22-year-old is currently enjoying a season-long loan at Upton Park after agreeing to temporarily leave Al Jazira, and his performances have caught the eyes of Liverpool‘s scouting team.

The Reds have been linked with making a summer move for the midfielder, and are reportedly ready to trigger his buy-out clause which stands at just ÂŁ5.5million.

However, West Ham co-owner David Sullivan has already revealed that his club have first refusal on Lanzini, labelling Liverpool’s reported interest as ‘irrelevant’.

Despite West Ham not being worried about the interest from Anfield, Lanzini has admitted that it’s an honour for him to be linked with a transfer to Jurgen Klopp‘s side.

‘Absolute Honour’

“I heard the president say that the club wants me to stay. I am fine here,” Lanzini told ESPN FC. “It’s an absolute honour that a team like Liverpool has put an eye on me, but at [the] moment I am focused on the match against Tottenham. It’s a good team to play against.”
