West Ham United manager Manuel Pellegrini feels It would be difficult for them to cope up without the service of Andriy Yarmolenko.

Yarmolenko is likely to miss the rest of the season as he underwent a surgery to repair his damaged Achilles tendon. The winger is now expected to continue his rehabilitation process which could force him to miss the next six months.

In the middle of the ongoing crisis, Yarmolenko’s injury jolted a big blow to Pellegrini’s future plans. The East London giants are currently without a win in the last two matches and the injury arrived at the possibly worst time.

Yarmolenko joined the long injury list which also consists of Jack Wilshere, Manuel Lanzini and Pedro Obiang.

Pelegrini said, “It’s very disappointing because he was an important player for us. He was one of the players who arrived this season to have more technical players.

“We also have (Manuel) Lanzini and (Jack) Wilshere out so that’s three players in same position. It’s really a pity and it’s very difficult for the team.”

He further added, “Andy Carroll and Jack Wilshere are still recovering, the same as Lanzini and Carlos Sanchez,

“Andy is working sometimes with the squad. He is improving – I hope that he can play the last game before the international break, if we are 100 per cent sure.”
