Manchester City manager could replace Guus Hiddink

Chelsea could end up appointing Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini should Pep Guardiola take over at the Etihad Stadium.

City are desperate to appoint the Spaniard at the end of the season, and with the manager confirming his plans to leave Bayern Munich and move to England, it looks like it’s a switch that is likely to happen.

Chelsea and Manchester United have both shown interest in appointing Guardiola as well, but City are believed to be firm favourites considering they have former-Barcelona officials in their board.

If Guardiola is to take over at the Etihad Stadium, it would mean Pellegrini would be out of a job, and today’s speculation has him linked with the Chelsea job.

Pellegrini at Chelsea

Guus Hiddink is currently the interim-manager at Stamford Bridge, but he’s expected to leave his role at the end of the season, and according to reports, Pellegrini is a potential candidate.

The Chilean is reportedly willing to consider the Chelsea job, and Spanish expert Guillem Balague has confirmed that he would be interested in the job.

Balague tweeted: “So when Pellegrini gets told about Pep (and he cannot be told because Pep HAS NOT SIGNED ANYTHING YET) he’ll consider offers. Including Chelsea.”
