Ivorian has struggled to make impact at Manchester City

Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini has admitted he’s disappointed with the impact Wilfried Bony has had on the squad since his January arrival from Swansea City.

The Citizens splashed out on the Ivorian striker midway through the season to help fire them up in the title-race, but the ÂŁ28million man has only netted one goal so far.

City Absences

Bony, who missed the first month of his City career due to the African Cup of Nations, has since had injury issues at the club as well, with constant knee and ankle problems.

However the striker is now fully-fit and Pellegrini wants to see the Bony of old for the final five games to help fire his side to a top-four finish and a runners-up spot.

Pellegrini Disappointed

“Of course it’s disappointing,” said Pellegrini. “We bought him because we had the injuries to the strikers. We have five more games, 15 points. I’m sure Bony will be involved in them.”
