Marcel Brands has been included in Everton’s Board of Directors.
The German was promoted from his post of Sporting Director at the Merseyside club.
Everton’s Director of football Marcel Brands has been included in their Board of Directors after being promoted from his post. The German joined the Merseyside club from PSV Eindhoven and has been involved in the transfer decisions to make the club a better one. However, he will now work at a higher level and would make sure of the development of the club.
Denise Barrett-Baxendale, the Director of the club, announced the name of Brands officially. She said, “It fills me with great pride to announce the appointment of Marcel to the Everton Board.”
She added, “This appointment further cements the importance and permanence of the position of Director of Football within our structure. Our approach now is to have a Director of Football with a broader remit responsible for the whole footballing strategy at the club rather than just player recruitment.”
Brands now joins chairman Bill Kenwright, Barrett-Baxendale, deputy chair Keith Harris, Sasha Ryazantsev and Jon Woods on the board of directors at the Merseyside club. The club is hopeful that he would help them take the right decisions for a better future on and off the field.
