Arsene Wenger has opened talks with Dinamo Zagreb over a £6.4million deal for highly rated Croation defensive midfielder, Marcelo Brozovic.
The Frenchman was very vocal in midweek at the North London’s clubs AGM, and announced there would be activity in the transfer market in January.
With more dropped points this weekend against Hull City, the Gunner’s defensive frailties have again been brought into the spotlight.
Inter Milan are also reported to be interested, but a recent £3.5million bid was flatly rejected. Zagreb value the 21-year-old much higher.
Already with World Cup experience, the sought-after youngster could well be part of the jigsaw for Wenger in the coming months.
The Arsenal boss appears to have listened to recent complaints from the fans, calling for a bolstering in central midfield, and is out there looking for the answer.
