Juventus have expressed interest in Marcelo in the past but the thought of leaving Real Madrid supposedly never entered the Brazilian’s mind.
Speaking to Club del Deportista, Marcelo said, “It’s never entered my mind to leave and look for another option. I have always done everything possible to stay at Real Madrid and I’ve never thought about playing time. If I had 15 minutes in every game, I’d give everything in those 15 minutes to play more and win more.”
Marcelo is widely considered as one of the finest players in his position and in the Galactico starting XI. He has won 4 Champions League and 4 La Liga titles during his 11 years at the Spanish capital.
The 30-year-old was also one of the Madrid teammates to hold the closest relationship with Cristiano Ronaldo. When the latter departed for Turin last summer, talks had ensued over Marcelo following in his shoes.
However, a deal was never finalised as Marcelo admits to being fully committed to Madrid and content with life in Spain. He has 58 caps to his name for the Brazilian national side and is still a starting figure for both club and country.
The fullback’s current deal is set to run till the summer of 2022.
