Marco Silva has hailed the impact of Yerry Mina Following Everton’s 0-0 draw with Chelsea.

Mina made his first start of the season as Kurt Zouma was unavailable to face his parent club. The Columbian international seems to be a quick learner as he looked pretty comfortable in his first start in the Premier League and now Silva has another defensive option at his disposal.

Mina was pretty quick in snuffing out the danger and used his aerial presence quite beautifully to deal with the threat. His huge presence in the box denied the likes of Eden Hazard and Alvaro Morata to have a clear go at the Chelsea goal.

Also, this was the first time Chelsea failed to score at the Stamford Bridge this season. So Mina’s work rate was immense as Everton rallied to hold on the Blues.

“He did everything I expected,

“It was his first official match in maybe three or four months and he showed his quality.

“He is very good on the ball and he is a player who will give us quality on the ball. Even without the ball he did what we planned, our defensive organisation and process.

“I think he did really well.”
