Marcus Bettinelli Set To Be Rewarded With New Deal

Fulham goalkeeper Marcus Bettinelli is on the verge of extending his stay at the club.

The 26 year old dint even make the match day squad for the first two games but since then has reclaimed his spot between the sticks. The Fulham academy product played a pivotal role in getting the Cottagers back to the Premier League and his performance graph has maintained a steady progress in the top flight too.

Talks for a new improved contract have already started and the custodian could soon sign on the dotted line. Although the player has sufficient year left in his contract, his considerable development over the last few years seems to be the reason why the club is pushing for a new deal.

Bettinelli’s shot stopping ability also earned him his first England call up when Gareth Southgate included him in the Three Lions squad for the first time in September in the UEFA Nations League.

With Fabri and Sergio Rico pressing hard for a starting role, Bettinelli needs to strive more in a bid to cement his place in the team.
