Marek Hamsik considering a move to China

Chinese Super League sides have already expressed their interest

Marek Hamsik joined Napoli from Brescia for a reported fee of €5.5 million, signing a 5 year contract in 2007. He has been an integral part of the team since then and is currently serving as their captain.

The 30 year is the highest goalscorer for the club with 116 goals in all competitions, overtaking Diego Maradona and has made more than 500 appearances for the club. He even reached his 100th Serie A goals earlier this month.

The Slovakian appeared in every Serie A match for the Italian giants giants this season, scoring 7 goals and assisting 2 in 47 appearances appearances in all competitions. The club finished 4 points behind the champions Juventus in the league.

Although the Slovakia International could end an 11 year stay with the Blues as he is considering a move to China this summer. Chinese Super League side Shandong Luneng are reportedly interested in the dynamic midfielder.

This could be a huge blow for Carlo Ancelotti, who was appointed as the new manager for the club and could have the task of appointing a new manager.

Though Hamsik insisted that no decision had been made and already had discussions with the new head coach.

“I’m a Napoli player for now. I talked to Ancelotti on the phone and I admit I’m tempted by the transfer,” Hamsik told Slovakia’s Sport24 as quoted by Goal

“I have only been to China once, for the Supercoppa match [against Juventus in 2012], but in life you have to try everything.

“For now I just want to be with my family, then we’ll see.”
