Wins for Chelsea, City and United, but draw for Liverpool and Arsenal

After the packed festive period, it feels weird to going back to just one Premier League game a week, and with the weekend coming up, BBC pundit Mark Lawrenson has made his predictions for the weekend matches.

What do you think?

Hull City 0-2 Chelsea

“This Chelsea team has got the ability to get a positive result wherever they go and no matter how well they play, which is a great thing to have.”

Cardiff City 2-0 West Ham United

“I am sure the owners mean it when they say they are backing him but the problem Allardyce has is that, if he goes to Cardiff and gets beaten by three or four goals, then their feelings could change very quickly.”

Everton 2-0 Norwich City
“Norwich’s away form, with only two wins in 10 league games, has been poor and it is very difficult to see them going to Goodison Park and getting anything.”
Fulham 2-0 Sunderland
“After getting thrashed 6-0 by Hull, they bounced back well to beat West Ham in their last league outing, and another home win here would be huge for them.”
Southampton 2-0 West Brom
“Southampton’s recent league form is poor but their performances have not been that bad. A Saints win is overdue and I think they will get one this weekend.”
Tottenham Hotspur 2-0 Crystal Palace
“For Spurs, a lot depends on whether Sherwood can keep Emmanuel Adebayor playing well but I would back them to get three more points here.”
Manchester United 2-0 Swansea City
“Swansea will again exploit that weakness United have on the right side of their defence but I am going to buck the trend by not predicting more doom and gloom for Moyes.”
Newcastle United 0-2 Manchester City
“If manager Manuel Pellegrini can get that right at St James’ Park, then I think City will be comfortable.”
Stoke City 1-1 Liverpool
“Oussama Assaidi will not be able to play for the Potters because he is on loan from Liverpool, which is a blow for them, but I would still back Hughes’s side to pick up a point.”
Aston Villa 1-1 Arsenal
“I think the injury that Theo Walcott sustained in the Gunners’ FA Cup win over Tottenham is a big blow for boss Arsene Wenger.”
What do you guys think then?
