BBC Pundit picks win for Liverpool, City and United

Friday afternoon can only mean one thing, Mark Lawrenson predicting the weekend’s Premier League results, and here is his selection this week!

Liverpool 2-0 Cardiff City

“At home, against teams in the bottom half, Liverpool have been winning games very comfortably and I think it will be a similar story on Saturday.”

Crystal Palace 1-1 Newcastle United
“I think Palace will make things difficult for Newcastle and I can see them picking up another point.”
Fulham 0-2 Manchester City
“We know that Alvaro Negredo and Edin Dzeko will score goals, and they should be too good for Fulham. City will need Aguero to be fit to face Barcelona in the Champions League in February, though.”
Manchester United 2-0 West Ham United
“Allardyce still badly needs three points, and I cannot see him getting them at Old Trafford, but I also cannot see them going down.”
Stoke City 1-0 Aston Villa
“They will be buoyed by that and I just think the Potters are offering enough of a threat these days to nick a narrow win.”
Sunderland 2-1 Norwich City
“Sunderland essentially have to win these kind of games if they are going to have a chance of staying up.”
West Brom 2-1 Hull City
“Hull, who have given everybody a game in the Premier League this season, might fancy their chances to capitalise but my feeling is that, now Clarke has gone, the Baggies will probably go and win.”
Southampton 2-1 Tottenham Hotspur
“If Spurs are at sixes and sevens at the back again, then I am looking at a Southampton win.”
Swansea City 2-1 Everton
“Everton have only lost once in the league, at Manchester City in October. Their consistency is one of their best attributes, but I still fancy Swansea to sneak this one.”
Arsenal 1-1 Chelsea
“The Blues’ problems in attack are one of the reasons I am going for a draw in this one. Mourinho will just not want to get beaten.”
What do you think of these predictions then guys?
