Real Madrid’s teenage signing, Martin Odegaard, has revealed why he moved to the European Cup holders.

The 16-year-old Norwegian completed his move to Madrid on Thursday, penning an undisclosed fee in a deal from Strømsgodset, with the starlet set to earn ÂŁ80,000 a week in the Spanish capital.

Odegaard was a target for Premier League outfits, with Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester United all previously keen on his prized signature.

However, he revealed in his press conference that the move was a ‘dream come true.

“It’s a dream come true,” Odegaard said. “It’s incredible. It’s an honour to join the best club in the world.

“I don’t feel the pressure but it’s different to play for Real Madrid than for Stromsgodset. I will try and enjoy this dream as much as possible.

“The past year has been incredible, it has all happened much quicker than I expected. This year hasn’t started bad either.”
