Juventus boss responds to speculation

Massimiliano Allegri has confirmed there is no agreement in place between himself and Chelsea regarding the vacant managerial position.

Allegri has been heavily linked with taking over at Stamford Bridge at the end of the season as Roman Abramovich looks to find his long-term replacement for Jose Mourinho, who left back in December.

The Blues are currently being managed by Guus Hiddink until the end of the season, but with just a few months left, Abramovich is starting to ramp up his search, and Allegri is believed to be a top candidate.

If reports are to be believed, the two favourites for the job are both Italian, with one being Allegri and the other being Antonio Conte, who currently manages Italy.

However, when asked about the Chelsea job, Allegri confirmed there was no agreement in place for him to take over in the summer, but he refused to rule out being interested in the job.

Allegri Coy on Speculation

“There’s nothing to it,” Allegri told Sky Sports Italia.

“I cannot either confirm or deny something that doesn’t exist.

“I want this matter over and done with now.

“What’s important for me right now is to get to the end of the season with Juventus and try and win some silverware.”
