Massimiliano Allegri will become Chelsea’s new permanent manager, says his former boss Giovanni Galeone.

The current Juventus chief is Roman Abramovich’s top managerial target to replace Blues interim boss Guus Hiddink at the end of the season.

The 48-year-old has a remarkable CV and is one of the most talked about managers in world football – after impressive spells at Serie A sides Cagiliari and AC Milan.

And his old coach, Galeone, says Allegri will be joining Chelsea and thinks he will be very successful while at Stamford Bridge.

Galeone holds the Italian in high regard, he said: “I think Max will go to Chelsea and will do very well.

“Allegri is doing incredible things, even if the club failed to buy the players he requested last summer: from Mario Gotze to Isco.” he added.

It seems like Allegri certainly has the golden touch at the moment as his Juve side are currently on a striking 14-game winning run as well as him lifting two Serie A titles in his time in Italy thus far.

On the other hand, Galeone believes the youthful manager is within the top five managers in the world and thinks it would be the wrong decision to stay in his homeland.

“For me, he will leave Italy.” Galeone said. “I see him going to England because the deal [Chelsea owner Roman] Abramovich has offered is really fantastic.

“As one of the five best coaches in the world, he has to leave Juventus, it makes no sense for him to stay in Italy.” he continued.
