Arsenal midfielder on the way out of Emirates Stadium

According to reports, Arsenal have agreed to sell midfielder Mathieu Flamini to Turkish side Galatasaray.

The Frenchman has been told by Arsene Wenger that he’s free to find a new club if he wants to play regular first-team football, and it’s Galatasaray that could be his future destination.

Flamini has had two spells with Arsenal, with the first ending when he joined Serie A side AC Milan, but after being released by the Italian outfit, he rejoined The Gunners after training with them during pre-season.

Competition for Places

However, since then, Flamini has fallen down the pecking order and is currently third-choice defensive midfielder, behind Francis Coquelin and Mikel Arteta.

Already being third choice, Flamini’s status within the first-team may diminish even further if Arsenal eventually land a new central midfielder.

Turkish Move

With competition for places heating up, Flamini has been told he can leave the club and it looks like he will finalise a move to the Super Lig with Gala where he will link up with ex-Gunner Lukas Podolski, who completed the same transfer earlier this summer.

According to Turkish reports, the deal could be announced in the next 48-hours.
