Mauricio Pochettino is not hoping to see any incomings on the deadline day.

The North London side reduced their gap with the top two with an emphatic victory over Watford at the Wembley. The Hornets took the lead through Craig Cathcart as Spurs looked clueless.

But a late comeback denied the away side a crucial victory as Heung-Min Son and Fernando Llorente scored in quick succession to pile more pressure on Manchester City and Liverpool as both the side dropped points in this game week.

Pochettino had hoped to add some reinforcements to his squad after a string of injuries as both Harry Kane and Dele Alli are expected to miss a number of crunch games.

But delay in the opening of their new stadium has put severe pressure on the club coffers and chairman Daniel Levy is unlikely to sanction any new deals.

Georges-Kevin Nkoudou and Vincent Janssen could leave the club and the Argentine manager insists the club won’t sign any new players. “No, I don’t know anything. I am going to talk now with my chief scout Steve Hitchen, I am going to ask for some news.

“I expect that maybe some players are going to leave but I do not expect that we are going to add to the squad. I am going to talk because I want some news, but not because I am expecting to sign a player.”
