Maurizio Sarri Condemns Sterling’s Racial Abuse By Chelsea Fans

Maurizio Sarri has said that he condemns the racial abuse that was thrown at Raheem Sterling by a set of Chelsea fans.

The Italian gaffer went onto become the first manager this season to earn a win against Manchester City in the Premier League.

Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri has said that he strongly opposes the unfortunate behaviour that Raheem Sterling had to face from a set of Chelsea fans during their encounter against Manchester City, which the Blues won by 2-0. The west London club and the Metropolitan police opened an investigation against the people who were alleged;y involved in this racial abuse of the England international and four people have been suspended from entering the stadium in connection to the incident.

The win made Sarri the first manager to win a match against the Citizens in the Premier League. With accordance to the incident, the Italian gaffer said, “It was disgusting,” he added, “I condemn any form of discrimination.”

Apart from him, a number of Chelsea players have also condemned the racial attack on Sterling. The Manchester City ace went onto accuse the media, especially the newspapers, of portraying the black players in a negative way to “fuel racism” in an Instagram post on Sunday, which got support from his England team-mate Ruben Loftus Cheek. He said, “I think he was right to say what he said. I don’t think it should be the game or anywhere. If it happened to me I would do the same.”

Chelsea are set to take on Vidi in their next match in the Europa League as they travel to Hungary.
