According to reports, Barcelona’s interest in French midfielder N’Golo Kante has left Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri worried that the Frenchman might leave Stamford Bridge.

Barcelona has been eager to sign N’Golo Kante as a replacement for their departed midfield maestro Andres Iniesta. Kante was one of the best midfielders during the World Cup, as he orchestrated the game from the heart of the midfield and helped France lift their second World Cup.

Kante’s brilliant performances for France during the tournament has elevated Barcelona’s interest in him. And because of these interests, fears are starting to grow that Kante might leave Stamford Bridge this summer.

Kante has been one of Chelsea’s most crucial players ever since his arrival from Leicester City two years back. In his very first season at the club, he won the “Premier League Player of the Season” award. Kante scored a goal and provided an assist as Chelsea won the League title. A few months back, he helped Chelsea lift the FA Cup.

Sarri has made keeping Kante at Stamford Bridge as one of his paramount priorities. A number of Chelsea’s star players have been targeted by Spain’s top clubs. The Belgium duo of Eden Hazard and Thibaut Courtouis are under Real Madrid’s radar while Barcelona are also keen to sign Willian.
