Maurizio Sarri Insists He Still Has Work To Do At Chelsea

Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri feels their performance against Manchester United has taught him a number of things and he needs to work on it.

Chelsea were made to pay for their sloppy display on the pitch as United had almost snatched three points at the Stamford Bridge following Anthony Martial’s excellent double.

But Ross Barkley saved his best for the last as his timely equaliser denied the Red Devils from registering consecutive wins in the Premier League. United pressed hard and forced Chelsea to indulge in the physical game which Sarri feels they are not used to.

“Of course, if you play against Liverpool or Manchester United and you make a mistake on the pitch, it is clear, but I think we have made the same kind of mistakes in other matches.

“If you win 3-0, the mistake on the pitch wasn’t clear, but I have said we need to improve when I have seen something similar in other matches.

“It’s normal when you play against a very strong team. If you start to play a physical match, of course Manchester United is better than us. But for 60 minutes we played our football with short passes at high speed and we were easily in control of the match.”
