Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri believes it would be hard for them to recover the gap with Manchester City.
Sarri has made a wonderful start to his Chelsea career guiding the Blues to an 18 match unbeaten streak in all competition. Despite dominating the Premier League this term Sarri’s men are still four points behind league leaders Manchester City.
The defending champions have been on a ruthless spree and are looking in total control at this moment. Chelsea set to travel to another top four candidate as they are set to take on Tottenham Hotspur at the Wembley Stadium.
The goalless draw against Everton already hurt their title ambitions pretty hard and another point loss would pile more misery on Chelsea. The boss said, “For me they are stronger than us.
“We have to work very hard just to try to recover the gap, but at the moment the gap is still there.
“We have to do it. We can recover, but I don’t think in the first season we will be able to recover 30 points (distance Chelsea finished behind City last season).
“In the Premier League, there is a team above the others. This team is Manchester City.
“Then there is a very good team – Liverpool. For sure Liverpool will be in the first four positions.
“Then there is four or five teams who will have to fight for the Champions League positions. Chelsea, Arsenal, Tottenham, (Manchester) United.”
