Inter Milan forward, Mauro Icardi, is set to snub interest from the Premier League by signing a new deal at the San Siro.

The Argentine international has been strongly linked with a move to Chelsea and Liverpool in recent weeks, and after stalling in contract talks with his current club, a move away was on the cards with both English clubs prepared to pay up to ÂŁ30million for his services.

However, a respected FIFA agent has revealed that Icardi is still desperate to stay in Italy and will sign a new deal at Inter.

The FIFA agent told ilsussidiario.net: “I’m a little surprised by these rumours as Chelsea have Diego Costa and Didier Drogba in attack. They do not want another striker.

“Diego Costa is going big things and it seems unlikely Icardi will be owned by Chelsea.

“I think there are plans in place at this time in which there is to be discussions over the renewal of the player’s contract.”
