Wanda Nara has revealed Mauro Icardi could have been a Juventus player in this summer. Wanda, who also happens to be his wife and agent has also claimed Napoli was also interested in taking the player under their fold.
It had been expected Icardi would leave the San Siro following a brilliant season in the Serie-A last term but the player decided to remain at the club. The Argentine international netted 29 times last season which saw his value skyrocketed in the transfer market.
The 25 year old renewed his stay at the club till 2021 two years back but the forward is expected to put pen to paper to a new contract which could end all the speculations. The player reportedly does have a €112million clause in his contract which could be triggered by foreign clubs only.
Wanda said, “If Juve tried to sign Icardi this summer? The only contact that Mauro had with Juve, is the seven goals that he’s scored against them. It’s obvious that Mauro is wanted but his choice was clear straight away. Juve tried but CR7 was their primary target.”
She went on to add, De Laurentiis? I met him, he’s a very good person. I think he made an offer to Inter for Icardi, but the latter made another decision.”
