Max Allegri has backed Cristiano Ronaldo to end his goal drought when Juventus face Sassuolo in the Serie-A. The Portuguese international is yet to find the net since his summer transfer to the Italian club.

Juventus have positioned them pretty comfortably in the Serie-A having won all their first three games as they are poised to lift the Scudetto for a consecutive record eighth time.

The introduction of Ronaldo in the Serie-A created a lot of hype in the summer but the 33 year old hasn’t got the ball rolling since his arrival. Ronaldo’s lack of goals hasn’t been a concern for the Old Lady who don’t seem to be unfazed by his missed chances.

The former Manchester United forward had a number of shots on goal but it seems he needs to work on his conversion rate. Allegri said, “Ronaldo has to win [player of the year] for what he did last year, without taking anything away from Modric or Salah, Ronaldo deserves the prize for what he did.

“I do not expect any more or less than what he did in the first three games, everyone was waiting for him and he scored Mandzukic, which is strange for me, tomorrow I think Cristiano will score.
