French starlet M’Baye Niang has revealed his desire to extend his loan spell at Genoa, maybe even make the move permanent.

Niang is at Genoa on loan from AC Milan.

Chelsea and Arsenal are targeting the French Under-21 international.

But he is set to resist the lure of the Premier League.

He said:  “Here I recovered my desire to play football,” Niang said. “Genoa have the characteristics of a great team. Everyone contributes, everyone runs together towards the same objective.

“[Coach Gian Piero] Gasperini showed me trust, he is teaching me a great deal.

“For the moment there’s an agreement for me to stay in Genoa over the next six months, but I’d be happy to stay here longer than that.”

Niang has represented France at Under-16, Under-17 and Under-21 level, but is also eligible to represent Senegal due to his parents.

He can play either up front, on the wings, and is also adept as an attacking midfielder.
