New signing scores in 3-1 victory

Manchester United secured their second win during their pre-seaon tour of America earlier this morning as they saw off San Jose Earthquakes thanks to goals from Juan Mata, Memphis Depay and Andreas Pereira.

The Red Devils won their first pre-season 1-0 thanks to a goal from new-boy Morgan Schneiderlin, but it was Depay who stole the headlines this time around as he opened his account for his new club.

Match Summary

However it was Mata who got the ball rolling for Louis Van Gaal‘s men as his chipped pass into the box avoided everyone before hitting the post and rolling into the back of the net.

Just after the half-hour mark, Depay’s moment came as he intercepted a back-pass and held his nerve to slot past the advancing goalkeeper.

Youngster Pereira then made it three for United in the second half with a neat header into the bottom corner.

Fatai Alashe was the scorer for the American side, as he brought his side back into the game at 2-1 just before half-time.

Below are the teams that United fielded during the friendly.
