Michael Carrick sends rallying cry

Manchester United midfielder Michael Carrick has sent a rallying cry to his team-mates and has ordered them to stand up and be counted for in order to turn around their season.

The Red Devils were held at home this weekend to Southampton after conceding a late-goal and that poor draw was on the back of their shock home defeat to West Bromwich Albion.

The champions are currently eighth in the Premier League and are already eight points behind league leaders Arsenal, and their star-performer of last year has urged the players to stand-up and fight for their campaign.

“It is not easy reading now,” said Carrick.

“Looking at the table as it is now is not something we are used to.

“It is frustrating because things are not going the way we want.

“But as players we have to stand up, take responsibility and get better.

“We just have to keep believing.

“We are still confident. Everything is in place but for some reason, at the moment, we are not quite clicking and not quite firing.”
