Michael Carrick to miss out on England squad

Manchester United midfielder Michael Carrick is not going to be on the plane to Brazil this Summer, according to reports.

England manager Roy Hodgson is set to announce his World Cup squad at 14:00, but early reports have indicated that the United midfielder will not be selected.

News has already broken about Chelsea full-back Ashley Cole missing out, and also Norwich City goalkeeper John Ruddy not getting the call-up, but it’s believed that the former-West Ham and Tottenham player will also be chopped from the squad.

Carrick hasn’t featured for England since October and he is expected to be replaced by the likes of; Adam Lallana, Jordan Henderson, Jack Wilshere and Steven Gerrard, whom are the four favourites to go in the central midfield position.
