Owen received backlash after comment on air about players’ wages
We all love a bit of Michael Owen commentary from time to time, don’t we?
Ok, maybe not, but we all definitely like to point and laugh at him when he says something stupid on air, which is now turning into a regular occurence.
Last night was no exception, as his comments about Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s wage demands to move to the Premier League this summer during the PSG vs Manchester City game caused quite a stir on Twitter.
With Ibrahimovic demanding ÂŁ600k a week from any Premier League team that desires his services this summer onwards, Owen stated ‘I was playing in wrong era wasn’t I?’, and the reaction on social media was epic.
"I was playing in the wrong era wasn't I?" says Michael Owen, who retired three years ago.

Michael Owen is right about playing in the wrong era. Imagine having to play football on poultry figures like ÂŁ60k or ÂŁ105k a week. Poor lad
