Chelsea forward Michy Batshuayi has hilariously denied that he spoke about his future with Belgian newspaper Het Nieuwsblad.
The outlet recently ran a piece and the quotes were picked up by the British mainstream media.
In the interview, he apparently claimed that it was up to Chelsea whether or not he plays at the club next season.
The quote was translated as saying:
“Honestly, I’m not trying to think too much [about my future]. It will be up to the board and the coach to decide. I’m the player, I go where Chelsea send me.”
Batshuayi hilariously hit back, tweeting that he has been enjoying his holiday.
Sorry but I never had this interview lol I’ve been chillin on a jet ski for 3 days https://t.co/WKLDi4e3rh

The Belgian newspaper had everyone fooled, the mainstream media reported on it and even we reported on it, thankfully we have social media so the players themselves can quickly clear it up.
Terrible move by Het Nieuwsblad, creating fake news like that.
