Juvents have moved quickly to decline rumuors that the club had agreed a £63.3 million deal for Arturo Vidal to join Louis Van Gaal’s Manchester United. The deal that would have seen Vidal’s wages rise to an impressive £270,000 per week have been rubished by the Turin side.

Juventus manager Massimiliano Allegri has insisted that the Chilean engine is happy in Turin and is staying put for the new Serie A campaign. Allegri said, ‘Vidal will stay here and he’s very happy about it. I spoke to him about his fitness, we’re happy he’ll stay with us.’

Juventus’ chief executive Giuseppe Marotta added, ‘We don’t want to sell Vidal, there are only rumuors because the player is among the best in the World. We renewed Vidal’s contract a few months ago because we knew we could count on an important element. We never activated a clause to try and sell him – if he doesn’t show an intention to leave, our position won’t change.’

Vidal also seems to have his focus on preparations for the new season after he tweeted a picture of himself and his team mates on the club coach with caption saying, ‘we are ready’.

Who will Louis Van Gaal turn to next as he attempts to persuade a world class midfielder to join a team that can’t offer Champions League football after a dismal league campaign under David Moyes last season?
