Newcastle Takeover talks have been resumed after months of speculation.

Negotiations over the sale of Newcastle United to Amanda Staveley will need to make significant progress over the next month if they are to stand a chance of success.

According to Sky Sports, Newcastle United owner is demanding possibly the future buyers a whooping price for the club’s services.

Having gambled on Newcastle surviving the drop this season, it’s understood Newcastle’s owner Mike Ashley will be looking to recoup between £380-£400m for the club, significantly more than the £300m offered by Staveley last October.

Any purchase of the club by PCP Capital has always included a clause that manager Rafa Benitez would remain in charge. Benitez has suggested he will be happy to stay on Tyneside if guaranteed sufficient funds to strengthen his squad.

Benitez is reluctant to sign a contract extension until the future ownership of the club is resolved.
