Chelsea midfielder John Obi Mikel has confirmed that he is willing to talk to other clubs ahead of a possible exit from Chelsea which would see his glittering 11 year career with the club come to an end.

Mikel is yet to play under new Chelsea boss Antonio Conte despite  being a first team regular in the second half of last season.

The Nigerians contract is due to expire at the end of the season and he will use the January transfer window to explore his options.

“When you have a year left, in January you are allowed to talk to other clubs and sign a pre-contract or have an agreement so, yes, I will talk to other clubs because you never know what is going to happen,” the 29 year old admitted. Mikel was left out of the Chelsea side who knocked out Leicester of the EFL cup on Tuesday night.

“If it is going to be the Premier League there will be options. If it is China or some other places, we will see. One thing is for sure, I will make the best decision.”

“I’ve been here for a long, long time. I’ve spent 11 years of my life in this football club, it is my home. This season is the last at the club if my contract ends. I am quite relaxed about it, the future looks good” added Mikel.

Mikel has made 368 appearances for Chelsea since 2006 and is a popular player among the Chelsea faithful.
