Milan director denies Conte talks

Milan denied talks with Conte for managerial role

AC Milan director Leonardo has denied talks wich said that the club is offering Chelsea’s former coach Antonio Conte a managerial role at the club.

The club has recently signed Gennaro Gattuso in April on a 3-year deal and the director has no intention to sack the newly appointed director.

Initially there were linkups that the new director Leonardo is willing to offer Conte a job who was recently sacked from Chelsea with Sarri been appointed as the new coach of Blues.

In talks with the media reporters, AC Milan director has denied Conte talks. He said, “My view is shared by the club, Gattuso was the first to be confirmed, this has never been up for discussion,”

It’s normal that these things happen when great coaches are available, but none of us have talked to Conte. Gattuso has grown as a coach, he’s a Milan man and we’ll go from there.”

Gattuso has recently joined the Italian side as a player in 1999 and he represented the side for 13 years. He played more than 450 games for the Italian side and the the defensive midfielder was 11 times on the scoring sheet.

He was appointed as the head coach of the side in November 2017 and was given a contract extention till 2021 in April 2018.

He was also the coach of Milan’s Youth team for 6 months.

Gattuso helped the side to finish 6th kast season and also qualified for the Europa League.
