Arsenal attacking midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan seems glad to have left Manchester United as he really likes the attacking style of play adopted by Unai Emery.

While talking to reporters in Singapore, Mkhitaryan said, “Arsenal have always played offensive football. Under Jose, the [United] team was playing a bit differently. But I’m not blaming anyone, I’m not criticising anyone, it’s just a different philosophy. I can just say I’m enjoying myself more here than I was in Manchester.”

The Armenian is also glad to have reunited with his former Borussia Dortmund teammates Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Sokratis Papastathopoulos. He said, “When I came to this club I felt the warmth of this team is really different, it’s like a family and everyone is taking care of you. It’s always nice to play with your old team-mates, with Aubameyang and Sokratis. We’re all looking forward to the new season and we’re going to try to do our best to help this team reach the top four of the Premier League.”

Mkhitaryan endured two difficult seasons at Manchester United from 2016-18. In 63 matches, the Armenian scored 13 goals and provided  11 assists. He moved to Arsenal this January in a swap deal which saw Alexis Sanchez go to Old Trafford.

Arsenal are currently playing at the International Champions Cup at Singapore. They are currently playing Atletico Madrid with the scores 1-1 in the 86th minute. Atletico took the lead through Luciano Vietto in the 41st minute. Then, Arsenal equalised two minutes into the second half thanks to Emile Smith Rowe.
