Monaco have sent a strong message of warning to Premier League clubs that their star player Thomas Lemar will not be available in January.
Chelsea, Arsenal, Manchester City and Liverpool have all been linked with the French star but Monaco are adamant that they will not be letting him go in January.
Lemar has reportedly made Liverpool his preferred choice, while Arsenal and Chelsea have also been pursuing the France international.
Liverpool are looking to offload striker Daniel Sturridge which would allow room for Lemar while Chelsea are desperate for attacking reinforcements with Belgian Michy Batshuayi failing to make the grade at the Blues.
Monaco are adamant they will not sell him in January though.
‘The sales of important players is not on the agenda,’ said Monaco vice-president Vadim Vasilyev.
‘We have never spoken [to Lemar] about the possibility of a January departure. ‘The team needs stability. We have re-found a positive dynamic. Now is not the time to break it.’
Monaco let several of their stars go after winning the French Ligue One last season but it appears they are not prepared to lose yet another given their disastrous season in the League and the Champions League.
